THE FACULTE OF ARTS, founded in 1837, is one of the largest schools at the University of Lausanne, with over 2,000 students of more than 80 different nationalities.
It offers a vast range of traditional disciplines, including philosophy, history, modern and classical languages, archaeology and history of art. It also teaches other subjects, reflecting the enlargement of human knowledge, such as the history and aesthetics of cinema, information technology for human sciences, linguistics, history and religious sciences. With over 4,560 possible combinations available at Master’s level, the Faculty of Arts offers teaching aimed at making the wealth of past intellectual output meaningful and grasping the issues of contemporary realities.
A study of the arts is inherently multi- and interdisciplinary, offering you the opportunity to develop numerous skills, such as independence, a sense of responsibility and organisation, the ability to summarise and convey complex information, proficiency in written and oral communications, and versatility.
